Rotary Jargon

2646213692_39c05a375f_oFor readers of this blog who are unaccustomed with Rotary International as an organisation, they will undoubtedly see that Rotary, like many other organisations has a lot of jargon, abbreviations and acronyms within its day-to-day operation.

Although RotaryBlogger tries to not to use this type of jargon within the posts in this site it is however sometimes unavoidable. For this reason, this page has been created as a kind of  helpful glossary which will hopefully be of use to both Rotarian and non-Rotarian readers of this blog.

BARC = British Association of Rotary Clubs
DG = District Governor
DGE = District Governor Elect 
DGN = District Governor Nominee
eClub = an Electronic (online) Rotary Club
EPN = End Polio Now campaign
MDR = Membership, Development and Retention
MPRC = Marketing, Public Relations and Communications
RI = Rotary International
RIBI = Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland
RINO = Rotarian in name only
RotaryGBI = Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (new 2014 Abbreviation and web domain)
WGM = Rotary's World's Greatest Meal to End Polio
